Friday, May 4 amd Saturday, May 5, 2012; Oakland, CA

Thanks to all speakers, sponsors, donors, volunteers, staff and attendees for another informative and inspiring conference! The 2012 Co-op Conference highlighted International Year of Cooperatives with the conference theme: Celebrating Co-ops! Engaging workshops helped us learn from successful cooperative systems around the world, including cooperative systems in Italy, Japan, Canada, and India. You can access video for select workshops on the Conference Schedule page (more coming soon).
The conference included a celebration open to members of the public, where cooperatives share information and everyone has an opportunity to share in recognizing the United Nation’s designation of 2012 as the International Year of Cooperatives. We extend special thanks to co-ops and allied entities that donated food, beverages and silent auction items. Our silent auction helped raise important funds for conference scholarships, making the event affordable and accessible to diverse cooperators.
The conference workshops covered diverse, critical themes to help existing cooperatives to improve success, share how the cooperative model is being used to promote economic development and sustainable communities, and provide guidance for starting and operating a cooperative. We also offered MCLE credit courses for attorneys and accountants that are interested in cooperatives. Click on the link below for a snapshot of the educational offerings.
