Cooperatives are an alternative that often goes overlooked when people are problem-solving issues. CCCD reaches out to share information about this valuable organization and corporate model. In 2014 we will convene the second "Co-op Day at the Capitol" which brings together cooperative businesses and resource centers to table and educate legislators and the public about cooperatives.
CCCD reaches out to other non-profits and organizations to share information about cooperatives so that they can consider this model alongside others when planning initiatives. Each October is "National Co-op Month" and we participate in, and organize, events to promote the cooperative business model. For example, this past October we participated with other local cooperatives in a Co-op event tabling at the Davis Farmer's Market.
