CCCD's Manufactured Home Parks Acquisitions and Advocacy Manager, Randy Keller, recently spoke on KQED News about the state of Manufactured Home Parks in California. Hosted by Alexis Madrigal, Randy was also joined by Bruce Stanton, general counsel with Golden State Manufactured Home Owners League, Mariah Thompson, a senior litigator with California Rural Legal Assistance, and Mary Currie, a resident at Marin Valley Mobile Country Club, a MHP that CCCD is currently helping residents to purchase.
The episode describes the critical role of manufactured homes in California, making up 6% of the state's housing stock. However, many of these parks are at risk of losing their affordability due to state laws and for-profit developers. CCCD, through its CaliROC program, is actively assisting MHP communites to purchase their own parks and form cooperatives, keeping these parks permanently affordable and accessible.
