Electric Co-op Volunteers to Light Bolivia: Fifteen lineworkers are on a mission to electrify rural communities.

Author from T&D World | Sept. 5, 2019 --Fifteen volunteer electric cooperative lineworkers are headed to rural Bolivia in early September to bring the gift of power to five communities that lack access to electricity.

The initiative is titled “United We Light: Project Bolivia” and is sponsored by the Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives in conjunction with NRECA International and support from the National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corp.

Katie Fairbanks | Aug. 7, 2019 --For years, Margaret Vockrodt and her neighbors at the Columbia Trailer Court asked in vain for the park manager and owner to repair leaking water lines, solve drainage problems and tear down an empty ramshackle home.

Their requests were often ignored, and the park off Oregon Way was plagued by patches of overgrown weeds, buildings chipping paint and unfilled lots.
